He observed a moment more, then looked at Mist. He noticed she wanted conformation of the noise.
It's just a stream dearest, nothing to be alarmed of.
In fact, he could handle anything that came into his home. His midnight pelt was untarnished for a reason. He knew how to handle things.

Mist smiled and nodded at Vee's words. She shook her ribbons before walked off towards the sound. She was a little thirsty, and a stream would do just fine. Maybe this place won't be as bad as I first thought. The thought put a smile on her maw as she walked. She stopped and looked around, it wasn't much of a stream, but it was clear. With lowered cranium she began to quench her thirst.

He followed in her footsteps as he too was mildly parched. He dipped his dust lined maw into the cool stream. The water offered instant relief to his raspy throat. As the water flowed into his stomach, it alerted him that it was enough. Steed then raised his cranium, high, for he was very proud.
Then, he noticed, it was silent, so silent it was eerie. He didn't hesitate to break it by stamping his dark hoof into the grassy ground. He liked to preserve his tough outer appearance. Though this was mostly true, his demise however was being alone. The thought of it drove him up the wall because for some reason, he couldn't handle his mind. Call him crazy, you'd be exactly right, but you have to hand it to him, he can hide it well.
His optics drew over Mist's figure, she seemed young, he just wasn't how young she could be, none the less, within breeding age. However, he wasn't one to push something like that upon someone. It was something to be gradually inclined into, not pushed forcefully. He was a man of manners so he could bear to wait it out. Perhaps she didn't even want to foal in her life. None the less, he respected her all the same either way.
He broke his stare from her, hoping she wouldn't have noticed, she was drinking of course. His eyes pondered up into the darkening foliage above.
Now to break the silence.
Let's talk. Tell me about yourself.
His voice entered a more gentle and seductive state than it previously had been . The words flew perfectly from his lips, almost lyrically. Each word was like a foreign, but beautiful song.
Knowing nothing more than her name and her blood was somewhat strange. Inviting someone into your home to live after just meeting was almost absurd, but that's just how things work. He wasn't one to push it though. Besides this mare was starting to pull on his heart strings in such an unusual manner. He didn't even begin to know what to expect from here on out. This was such a bizzare and unusual feeling he had never experienced before.
what's happening to me?

Mist lifted her head once when Vee stamped his hoof on the ground, but then resumed drinking. She didn't raise her cranium again until Vee asked her a question. She noticed that his voice had changed, and couldn't help but to like it. What do you want to know Vee? There wasn't much to tell him really, she had a normal past, a normal family, her entire life has been "inside the lines" as to say. Nothing really happened to her that wasn't "normal". But that didn't mean that she didn't want something to happen, she didn't really like being normal, she wanted to be unique, but she found it hard because of her shy personality. Her deep brown pools watched Vee as she waited for his reaction. She didn't really know that much about him, but she didn't really care, he was nice to her, and she kind of liked how she felt when she was with him. Then again, she hadn't been away from him for very long either, but that didn't matter to her. Her gray banner waved back-and-forth, ridding her bodice of pests. ((I"ll post with Lodeme in a few more posts))

Vee listened to her then replied.
Tell me about yourself. Where you're from. Tell me your past. Tell me a secret.
A short pause elapsed then a small smile crept onto his maw. His voice was still seductive, he did it so well.
Which each rise and set of the sun he grew wiser, he knew what the mares liked, even though he was though to be in experienced.

Mist's auds twitched a little at Vee's reply. Sorry, but there's not much to tell, my life has been, "inside the lines" as to say, nothing really out of the ordinary has ever happened to me, or mine. My home...my home is but a distant memory of my family. Vee, I am sad to dissappoint you but the only seceret that I know of, is the fact that Lodeme, the other mare you claimed, likes you more than she lets on. There, she had done it. She told the only seceret that she had ever been trusted with, and she felt horrible for it. She knew Lodeme would be cross with her when she found out about it, and Mist didn't want to be alone with the mare when she did. For some reason that mare made Mist feel like showing a side of her none have ever seen before, Lodeme, as she wished to be called, made Mist feel like coming out of her shell and showing that mare that she wasn't just some innocent foal that could be ignored as though she didn't exist.
A strange smirk came to Mist's maw when the thought of her puting that mare in her place crossed her mind. She had also noticed the change in Vee's voice. She couldn't help but to feel attracted to the suductive quallity his voice took on. Her eyes seemed to twinkle in the light of the moon that had finally risen.

His ears stood erect as she spoke. He listened to each and every word and examined its meaning. nothing out of the ordinary? everyone has something unique about them. No matter how cookie cutter they seemed. These thoughts led to another. Perhaps she has just felt too ignored to be anything different.
When she told him about Londeme, he was shocked, but he knew it was true. No, he wasn't shocked that she actually liked him, he was shocked that Mist had told him.
He looked to the ground for a moment then met Mist's eyes, happy that she could trust him. If that wasn't the case, he was just happy she was opening up. Once you stop getting stepped on, it changes your whole outlook of things. When you're not the little guy and you're not the timid one, things change.
Oh really? His voice proved once again to fit perfectly with what was happening. Hushed, but still strong, almost whispered.
The moon, nightfall. My favorite time.
Now let's throw a little twist into the developing fairytale.
The moon brought with it the night. The night brought with it something else, something in Vee. He had been dealing with this for quite some time now. He changed at night, it's been happening since day one. No, he didn't change physically, but something inside that head of his underwent drastic change at night.
His throat ached, ached with such pain and desire he could hardly compose himself. Vee, no, not now. The words echoed in his head. The internal conflict was not evident to anyone but himself. He could control himself, but it was challenging. His condition was anything but the usual "vampire". He did indeed fit most of the quota, but he had control.
[ooc:meh, why not?]

Mist had been wondering what Vee had been thinking for a while, but she thought it would be rude to ask the stallion. She did feel like she could trust him more that she could trust anyone else, but she couldn't grasp the reason why. She nodded her grey cranium as an answer to his words. She didn't feel ignored, and never had. Her parents have always loved her, but everything was just too plain for her, so she left, and here she is. She didn't know how he did it, but his voice changed once again. She had always wanted to be able to have her voice hide what she was truly feeling, but she was just too honest a mare for that, and yes, even a little nieve, but aren't most sheltered horses? Her pelt seemed to crawl for a moment as she watched Vee intently. She felt something was changing in him, but she didn't know what. She did know how to find out though, the same way he had found out about her. So, my turn, tell me about yourself Vee. Your past, where you're from, and maybe even a seceret. After all, I have told you the full truth about me. She smiled sweetly, knowing full well that her innocence shown through like a spotlight on a black night.

Sometimes, a lie is called for. He hated to lie, but you know what they say about lying to protect others right? He was in the right here, or so he thought. He knew how she would react if she knew just a little too much about him. If she knew exactly how many horses' lives he had taken and how many times he hadn't been able to control himself she would want nothing to do with him, and if that was the case well he probably couldn't control himself. For he was a creature of extreme pent-up frustration, he liked to think he was doing a fine job of resolving it with in his own mind, but all that fury must go somewhere, after all he hasn't had an "outbreak" in quiet some time now. Maybe he was just going through a phase and it's over now, he had pushed that little urge back into his mind for a while now. He knows how others react, why they choose the paths they do, and how they're going to handle things, but he just couldn't seem to diagnose himself, no matter how hard he tried. He pushed the thoughts from his head, he couldn't prolong the silence any longer.
The silence stretched on for a moment more while he just barely managed to make sense of his jumbled thoughts to make a coherent sentence.
You know... He looked into he eyes, paused, then looked up to the moon.
I can't exactly come to a certain conclusion there, I just... He pulled his optics from the moon's shine and placed them back onto Mist.
Can't seem to explain to you how I've came to be, because really, I think it's just a little too much for you to handle right now. He knew this sounds just a little... odd.
His gaze slipped from her and back onto the moon as the time drug on, he didn't mean to make the awkward but he was pretty sure it was getting there.
Vee, can't you manage anything, even just once? He grimaced as he scolded himself inside his head.

Mist didn't know why, but she felt safe with Vee this close to her, she smiled and giggled softly at the road her thoughts were taking. Her gray auds perked as she listened to his words. She inclined her Arabian head in acknowledgement of her words. She was smiling happily when she looked back up to him. She couldn't explain why, but she trusted him, and she wanted him to trust her as well. It's alright Vee, I understand. Some stories aren't meant to be shared. Her voice held all of the understanding and confidence she felt in him. She moved over next to him and ran her cranium softly underneath his. And in that moment she was as happy as a kid in a candy store. With her neck underneath his she looked up at him, smiling, hoping he wasn't upset with her actions.

The sweet sound of Mist's giggles entered his head and echoed there. The sound of happiness from her simply filled him with bliss, a certain ecstasy that over ruled his impulse to feed in a way. As Mist approached him he shivered. Her touch so delicate and feminine nothing that a steed could ever deliver.
feed... The demented thoughts swirled chaotically in his head.
....I must resist. And for the first time he had control of this driving force, it wasn't exactly gone but under control.
He didn't let his mentally strange argument show in his physical exterior, not one bit.
Thank you for your understanding, it means a lot to me.
A moment of stillness passed. You're something Mist... You know that?
He looked into her deep chocolate eyes and was sure that there wasn't any way he could evade his devotion towards her. He couldn't say he wanted to.

Heaven's Mist nodded at his words and laughed softly. I know, and so are you Vee. But I already know what I am. Her words were soft and kind, but confident and strong. They also held a little hidden seceret that only this little arabian mare knew. She withdrew her crainium from under his and trotted off into the forest a little ways. She smiled, laughed and looked back at Vee, wondering what the stallion would do about her antics.
