On the verge of the Renaissance the gods are losing power as a result of new human values and ideals. Demigods, half-human half-god beings are sent on a mission from their concerned predecessors to collect items called 'tears of the faithful.' The tears are obtained from a human who has shown renewed respect and loyalty to a respective god. However, there are powers of evil working to collect the pieces as well, but for a much more sinister purpose. Demons try to take the tears from the demigods and give them to their masters, whereupon using the tear's power, the master gains a bit of the energy from the god the tear was meant for.
