Phantom wandered into the Claiming Grounds, the sun beating against her buttermilk buckskin coat. A small wind blew and shook her mane about, leaving her old herd and getting a new one was a privelage for her, her younger sister still had to wait another two years before she was able to come get a herd. She looked around, nothing so she quietly walked over to a tree in the shade and waited, if a stallion wanted her enough he would find her. Phantom - hfgsyrox

August was roaming again, sort of. He was truly searching for more mares that would be suitable for his small herd. He only wanted the ones that were kind, none of the dark wenches for him. Darks could sometimes be a touchy subject for the golden stag, but for now he wouldn't let those thoughts plague his mind. He moved at an easy jog, a gait that he could move at all day if he so chose to and he often did when he was traveling. The sun shone beautifully down on him, it always did. It was no joke when someone said he was sun-kissed or sun-blessed. That's when he spotted a buckskin mare, lighter in color than most but still a buckskin. She moved off to lay under the shade of a tree and his harks flicked as he coasted to a halt, calm orbs watching her calmly. He moved into a walk towards her, after lifting his dial slightly and releasing a low whicker towards the mare to alert her to his appearence. He kept up his slow walk until he was a few feet from the resting mare. He didn't wish to crowd her after all. He nodded his dial politely to her. "Hello, I'm August Moon, what's your's?" His toned was calm, almost soothing and gentle. He was truly a gentle stallion until forced to become something else.

Phantom spotted a stallion approaching and stood up, she shook the dirt off her golden pelt. "I am Phantom" she said looking over the stallion, his palomino colour glossy in the sunlight. His eyes showed pure gentleness and trust, so she knew to be calm and trusting around him. OOC: No muse and gtg

The mare spoke, stating her name as Phantom. He nodded politely, storing the name, scent and look of the mare in his brain along with all of the other horses he'd met. Hmm, she didn't comment about anything or ask him anything else so he had little to go off of, and he really didn't just want to introduce himself and then try to whisk her away to his lands, that didn't seem proper. "So what brings you here?" He asked calmly in his same tone. He certainly was a change from most of the other stallions that dwelled around here. He was such a sweetheart and tried so hard to please his mares.

"My last herd I left and really need a new one, and this is a new place and I don't know much dangers around here" Phantom said swishing her tail calmly. She almost missed her last herd, they were all so sweet and caring accept the lead, kicking her out for fighting back from his idea of trying to keep mares "in line". She had no idea why the 0ther mares stayed, life would have been better if they had all left.

Phantom spoke and August's harks flicked forward to catch her words. He gathered that she hadn't like her former herd. His curiousity wanted to know why but he fought it back, if she wished to tell then that was fine, he had no reason to pry into her history or anything now did he? He thought not. "Well, you would be welcome to stay within Hespera if you like. As for the dangers it is mostly the darks you need to be wary of, not much else really poses a problem." He said calmly. Yes he was inviting her stay within his lands but he would not truly 'claim' her. The word was vile for his liking, rather he would simple allow her to stay within his lands until she found something that she liked better and until then August would fight to defend his motley herd and lands until his dying breath. He really was too kinda for his own good at times.

"I would be pleasured to" Phantom said flicking her ears at a small sound behind her, probably nothing to she ignored it. At least she had a place to stay for then on, unless she found a more worthy place to stay. Hoping that the others were nice in the herd, if there were any she just had to ask. "Are there any others in the herd?" (OOC: If She didn't already ask)

The buckskin spoke again, stating that she would like staying with him. He nodded and smiled softly. He noticed her harks flick and he glanced behind her but really only saw a deer moving around unless another was watching from the shadows. He shrugged mentally if they came out then he would deal with it until then. The mare then spoke again, asking if there where others in the herd. He smiled inwardly, at least she was no idiot to walk into a land that she knew nothing of, except for this place but this was kinda understandable to him. "Yes, there are two or three others if they haven't already left. I don't keep those dwelling in my lands under lock and key. Everyone is free to do as they wish though I would greatly appreciate warnings so that I do not assume that something horrid has befallen." He said calmly, yup entirely too sweet for his own kind. One day mares might take advantage of him, but then again as long as they where happy he wouldn't mind. He was an imbecile wasn't he? More than likely....

OOC: Sorry I forgot to reply... I have been busy
Phantom glanced at her belly, she forgot to mention the fact that she was in foal to the stallion from her old herd. "Uhmmm, I did forget to mention, I am in foal to the stallion from my last herd, he force bred me and that's why I left" she said quietly, she hoped the foal would be better than the stallion she left.
Her belly grumbled and she felt a small kick, she was due to foal within the next month or so, though she didn't look much like it. She always kept most of her thin, golden frame wether she was in foal or not, though she wasn't underweight.

The mare spoke again, stating that she was in foal to her former stallion though it had been a force breeding. "That's quite alright my dear. I won't hold it against your foal and will help you raise it if you ask. Foals cannot and should not be punished for their parents, nor shall I blame you anything since I know nothing of this stallion. Though should he show his face and you ask me to I will fend him off." He said calmly. Yeah, he probably could be considered a light, but nobody had seen the darker side he kept hidden. The darker side was from his dam, one of the cruelest, most spiteful and loving mares the world had ever seen. Anjum, the cremello mustang. She had been a ruler of her own herd when he'd been born and he didn't really know much about his sire, other than the fact that he was a chestnut. His flaxen banner flicked slightly thinking of his dam. He'd heard rumors that his dam was roaming the area, and he swore that he'd even scented her on his way through here. Be nice to see her again perhaps.

"Thank you August" she said calming down a bit, the thought that the stallion would fight for her, and let the foal live even though it wasn't his made her feel better about going with him. "Shall we go before nightfalls?", the thought of walking in the dark with many 'dark' horses roaming and any other dangers didn't seem the most appealing to her. Having to run or fight off any other animals or horses while pregnant was sure to hurt any foals divelopment. Oh how she couldn't wait until she had the foal, getting all that extra weight off her would feel much better over carrying it.

The palomino smiled slightly when she thanked him and he could see her relax. The poor girl, she didn't know that the way he'd been raised that he was to bow down to a mares every whim. Blame his power-hungry dam, but it didn't phase the stallion. He was not the type of stag to think that his gender was superior to mares. He would like to see the species survive if the mares decided that they weren't going to get any more foals. No matter. He nodded calmly when she asked if they would leave before nightfall. "Of course we can and do not fear for your or the unborn's life." He said calmly bumping her shoulder with his muzzle to reassure the mare. He turned calmly, lokking over his shoulder at her before stepping out at an easy walk towards Hespera. "I'm sure you're like Hespera, it's a very peaceful area and I'm sure you'll get along with the others, especially Sookie. And do not fear that I will change once I'm in my lands again, I am always like this unless my family is threatened." He said calmly, it wasn't an abnormally long way to Hespera but it was long enough that he would not like the silence that might ensue.

Phantom nodded and followed, "That's good", her last stallion seemed to nice and after a while he turned into almost a 'monster' and was mean. As she walked her belly grumbled every while with the foal inside. She was a bit exited to get back to her new herd, she pranced i bit ahead of the stallion exitedly, though the weight of her foal kept her just at a trot and she soon slowed to a walk. She wondered what the foal was to look like, and what gender and personality it might come with. Hopefully something like herself, though if it was raised in the right herd like this one it would probably be most like herself, and that was good.
