A roan mare, with an enlarged barrel plodded along calmly, flicking her banner over her haunches. She was mildly agitated. Her first-born colt had been acting up ever since she had come back after conceiving her second child and Chiara, for that was the mare's name, was worried. Her children were abominations according to her sire. Simply because they were not purely lined Animas.
She sighed heavily and layed on her side as the semi-familiar pains swept over her frame. She gritted her teeth and started to push.
After some time she was worried, Eterna had been born long before this amount of time. Panic almost started to worm its way into her brain but she stilled it, remembering that the sire of this foal had been rather large, compared to her and perhaps that's why it was taking so long for her to deliver.
She sighed heavily as she gave one great push and felt her frame suddenly lighter. She heaved her frame upwards as she swung around to clean her new child. She nudged it gently as she licked it. Once she was pleased she allowed a smug smile to crease her maw. Two for two. Two paint colts from two different stallions. She lowered her maw to the colt's ears before breathing two gentle words. "Anima Oscura." She took a step backwards and nickered gently to the colt. Oh yes, dark mare she may have been, but with her children, especially when this young there was no reason to be harsh or cruel with them.
That would probably come later. Once they where older, though more than likely she would still coddle her colts, as long as they spread their lines efficiently and named the resulting foals with the Anima title.
