He moved slowly through the open fields of what he now knew to be called "The Homeless". He moved along the edge, politely avoiding the cavorting mares and stallions, he didn't know why he kept staring at them. He was never impolite, and this was just rude. However, it had been a long while since he'd had any company. Sure, the passing filly every now and then, and the occasional friendly stallion, but never a companion. Kachess heaved a sigh and decided it'd be better to move into the cover of the trees lining the various runs of lush open grassland. He needed something to distract him. He needed no one. No one who would get in his way, at least. A few small black birds landed on his whithers and started preening themselves. Their little claws tickled, and he was forced to oust them from their perch and he turned his head back to scratch. His coat was getting dull. Turning back around he eyed a nice looking tree, with bark just rough enough to make a good scratching post. He trotted over to the tree and began to rub his head up and down along the bark, enjoying the blissful feeling of a good rub. He was distracted for now.

Burnt Ember walked through the grounds of the homeless. She moved with elegance and grace like any arabian mare should. She arched her head proudly and lifted her tail up high and proud. She was always known for Collected Perfection. She had perfection to just about everything and she is collected a lot. She loved water, she also loves everything hot, such as fire and lava must be her favorite things. She had a attitude and was never afraid to use it. She liked to tease the stallions on how they couldn't have her. She never knew it was possible for a stallion to force claim her, she thought that only happens to other mares and could not happen to a mare like her. Ember kept walking through the field, she couldn't find a easy target, there was no stud alone in sight. Just about all of them looked either plain and boring, or completely ugly. None of what she was looking for, a easy target. She was a purebred arabian, she had firey blood red coat, with pitch black stockings on all 4 of her legs, and pitch black muzzle and pitch black tipped ears, and pitch black mane, tail, and forelock. Her coat almost sparkled in the sunlight. She started to prance on her light hooves, she was always playful and full of energy, and charming. Mature to, well most of the time. She then uncollected her head and pricked her ears toward the distance in the woods. She studied the horse to be sure. Yep. It was stallion alone to. He was not surrounded by mares, nor was he ugly. His coat looked dull but she didn't care. He still looked good. She then entered the forest at a prancing trot. Then half way toward him she made a small, babyish, firm, yet polite nicker towards him to announce her presence. She then took a couple steps closer, then backed up a bit, she collected her head, swished her tail and pawed the ground. She then half pranced and half walked toward him. She then stopped and did the same thing she did earlier, stop, step forward, step back, collect, and paw. This time instead of going forward again, she just stood there and awaited his response.

Kachess had just started to get to scratching his whithers when he heard a soft nicker behind him.
'Ohhh dear...'
He turned his head slowly, ready to shoo off any young starry-eyed mare, but found himself struck still by the beauty of the creature before him. He lifted his head, to appear more approachable. His gaze calm, and steadfast, studied her without a hint of emotion showing in his intense blue eyes. Ears pricked forward, he decided to speak.
"May I help you?"
His gaze remained locked to hers as he waited for her response. Curious, that he didn't just walk away.

She spoke up and said I am Burnt Ember, and you are? She said as if she ignored what he said. She never really ignores anything, but she sorta did this time. Ember had a dominat, and Im gorgeous and I no it look on her face. Quite the usual. She felt like exploring the world, learning everything she could possible. But something always held her back, she never found the time to do so. So she stayed here and teased the stallions, she sometimes explored the lands. But she had to put that aside now, she needed to return to the stallion in front of her, rather then what she wanted to be doing. She broke her gaze and turned her attention toward the slight breeze that just kicked up. She then said What brings you to the homeless grounds? she then awaited a response.

"I am called Kachess."
This time, he turned his entire body toward her. He was incredibly tall for a steppe cross, given his partial draft heritage and had the misfortune of intimidating others with his mass. He didn't know it, but subconsciously he was challenging her to show some grit, and accept him for being just a little different. He noticed her silent reverie, and when she spoke again he paid special attention to the cadence of her voice.
"To be honest, Ember..." He paused and rattled that response out of his mind. "I'm just passing through" he said a little too quickly. He turned his head away, then added "What are you doing here? I mean no offense, but you hardly seem the type to romp around aimlessly searching for a mate. You look like you know what you're doing." He eyed her, albeit a little suspiciously out of the corner of his eye.

She studied him now that he faced her. She noted that he was tall and had draft in him. She really didn't care that he was tall and had draft in him. She liked that actually. He was pretty cute. She shook her head, she was not here to fall in love, she was here to flirt and have some fun! She can't fall in love with the target..... right? She then shook out of her thoughts. She sensed it was attitude time. I am a Arabian mare with a attitude, I and gorgeous, with a attitude! She said to herself. She listened closely to what he said, then she replied with Like you would even care to no! she blurted in his face. She paused a bit. This stallion will be very fun! She then glared at him in the eye and said Like you could even control a mare like me her words stung like a knife. She said it slowly, and challenging. She knew he wouldn't accept her challenge. So she without him seeing it gathered herself prepared to leave, cause for sure he will back down.
OOC: Sorry it was shorter then what I wanted, but I couldn't really think of anything else to say!

OOC: It's alright! ^^ I write in short bursts anyway.
Kachess bit back the urge to dominate her where she stood. How dare she, first approaching him, insult him! However, externally he remained calm, which seeped internally, and he soon found himself chuckling at her defensiveness. His laugh was charming, boyish, and rarely heard. What a puzzle this mare was. Suddenly, his desire to stay alone, for his meticulously thought out reasons, didn't seem to matter any longer.
"I'm going to take a walk," he said turning from her, keeping his eyes on her. "You're welcome to accompany me, if you wish."
The tiniest of smiles graced his muzzle as he began a slow, slower than normal, walk away from her. A yard or so later he called out to her, his eyes forward, voice booming. "Or am I too much of a challenge for you?"[/

Ah ha! He took it. What a brave stallion he was. She wasn't expecting it, so she started walking forward, not behind him, letting him lead, she was up beside him but not directly beside him, she was also partly in front. But before she reached him she listened to what he said then laughed. Your a bigger challenge then I could even bare! she said sarcastically. She then picked up a canter and went over to him. I am tough as Lava for that is wear I was born, My mood changes like the moods of the ocean from which I lived, No matter what you do, you can never get rid of the fire in my heart She said in almost a whisper. She didn't care what he thought or said of that cause, what she said was true and she meant it.

He grinned inwardly at her acceptance of his request. It was so nice to have someone to talk to. He looked over at her as she cantered up to him, listening to what she said, and mentally noting her immediate defiance. However, he also noticed her sadness. He closed the distance between then and nudged her a bit with his shoulder. "Why would I want to do that?" He offered her a small smile. "I appreciate those who have ideals, and things they are fighting for. I just cannot find something like that of my own. I often view fighting as entirely pointless because both sides still lose...in a way." He stopped speaking and looked beside him. "Where would you like to go? Pick a place, anywhere. I'll take you there."

First stallion who doesn't want to rule her. She liked that. Most stallions do want to get rid of it she felt his shoulder touch hers and she felt a little uneasy but accepted it. Both sides do sorta loose she said. Oh now he wants to take me somewhere? I want to go where ever the lava is, or wherever the ocean flows she said to him.
OOC: sorry for short post, I am hurrying to post it before you logged oof if you were to do that soon.

Kachess perked his ears forward, anticipating a good run, and picked up his walking pace a bit. She said she was from where there was lava. He personally had never been near and active volcano. What a perfect excuse to see where she came from. He needed to learn more about her. She seemed like she could handle most situations on her own, and she sure as hell wasn't going to fawn. In most ways she was perfect to travel with him. If she went with him now, would she go with him wherever he went? His lonely heart sank a little, but his mind slapped him out of that sorry state as he turned to look at her, raising the pace to a canter.
"Let's go see lava. I've never been up close before!" With that he broke into a run, letting his spirits fly. Of course...he had absolutely no idea where he was going.
OOC: Should we take this to the Elysia thread? :3

Ember looked exited. She half reared in the front and took off at a canter, that turned into a wild gallop. She was next to Kachess. Then said I am so exited to go back to lava! I haven't seen it in so long! she said happily. She jumped over fallen logs, and even little rocks. She gave out random bucks and nickers, she was very exited. For a first she forgot about elegant and grace, she was retreating to her fast and furious side. Ember couldn't believe it, but her teasing this stallion on how he couldn't have her was now backfiring and she was actually falling for him. She was so shocked. Was he really what she wanted? Would she be happy with him? Would he accept lava? Would he accept the fact that this was just all a big tease and she never really wanted to be with him, but it has all changed? Would he even believe it? Her mind was filling with questions, worries, exitments. Then it hit her. What if he didn't like her? He said he was just "passing through" did that mean he did not want a mate? did he already have one? She then grew sad. She shook her head and freed herself of her thoughts. She will need to enjoy what is happening rather then what might happen.
OOC: Okay, meet you there.
