Spotted Thunder sighed as he walked around his now empty home. He could still smell the scents of the ones who had left him alone. Oh well, the past is the past, and no one knows what the future holds. He tried to cheer himself up, but he was unsuccessful. He missed his mares, his family. Even though they left him, he still loved him, and that wasn't going to change anytime soon.
He flicked his spotted banner, trying to cool himself down. He screamed a stallions scream, and charged, not really paying much attention to where he was going. He knew that he wasn't in any real trouble as long as he avoided the few sink holes, or snake holes, he would be fine.
He slid to a stop once he reached the oasis. He lowered his maw and drunk greedily from the little pool of water. He lifted his dripping maw and looked around. Wondering if maybe his mares were just looking around the land, getting to know it's hidden secerets.

Nara was wandering and she wondered where she should go. There had been signs that this land was from a stallion but she had not seen him yet. wandering like this had made her tired and she looked for a place to satisfy her thirst and then get some sleep. Lifting her head in the air, she smelled the air before she took steps towards where the smell came from. Water.
Aproaching the water pool she stopped. A spotted stallion was there and Nara was unsure what she should do. There was enough room so she could also drink. In a small trot she came to the other side. Her ears going back and forward, picking up every sound there was. As she reached the pool on the other side of the side the stallion was on she slowly lowered her head to drink. The cool water made her feel a lot better.
As she was done drinking she took a few steps back before she looked around and found a small tree. She was unsure if the stallion would harm her and so she stood under ther tree only dozing of a bit still hearin every sound. Nara was not most experienced in being alone but she liked the nearness of this stallion, it made her feel safer, like the nearness of her father or brothers had been when she was little.

Spotted Thunder watched as the mare that he had claimed found the oasis, and drank. The water here was cool, and would do wonders to keep ones self alive. He didn't know how long the mare had been here, but that was because she had never given any sign that she had made it. Welcome to Dahlin m'lady. Mine name be Spotted Thunder. Most call me by Thunder. Thou should do as though wish. He spoke with the utmost respect for the mare and her wishes. He wasn't the type of stallion that would try to force a mare to do something against there will. No, he was polite, and he had a feeling that it might take some time before she trusted him. He bowed respectfully to the mare after he spoke, his spotted cranium coming close to the desert sand. He lifted his cranium, and stood tall and proud infront of the mare. There was no point in making the mare feel as though she had come to live with a stallion that was over joyed at her arival, or a stallion that was just about as playful as a week old foal who has finally found how to keep his balance while running.

Nara looked at the stallion, who introduced himself as Spotted Thunder. She could see where the first part of his name came from. " My name is Nara" she replied to him as she watched him. At first she thought she had made the wrong decision coming here as he spoke in a strange way, even if he was respectfull. But as he rose and stoof tall and proud, she was sure he would be a good stallion. " i have been wandering for a little here in this part, i was not sure where to go. It was not till i saw you here at the water pool that i really knew you belonged here. I am glad you accept me here" she said.
It was good for her that she knew she belonged somewhere again. she was old enough to be on her own and ofcourse there would be times that she would shy away but she was also sure that in time she would get to trust this stallion. Her ears relaxed listened to the surroundings. Are there many here?" she asked. She knew there was a hieragy in a herd and she did not want to have the others mares against her from the day she arrived. Nara - sonjanine

Thunder's spotted auds twitched a little as he listened to the mare's name. It is my pleasure to meet you Nara. I hope you will enjoy living here. He smiled and nodded at her words. He took a few cautious steps towards her, he didn't want her to be afraid of him, so he was going to take things slow, at least till she got used to him being around one minute, then poofing, then reappearing a few minutes later. I should thank thee for coming here, and staying as long as thou hast. He knew that he spoke strangely, but he couldn't help it, he was sure that he would start talking like her in just a few days. It just took him a while to learn new things. Now, he isn't dumb, but when you habe been trained in something as long as he has, then it sorta becomes second nature, and you do it without even thinking about it. When Thunder heard her asking about others his auds drooped a little. There used to be, but they have left for more greener places. He couldn't keep the dissappointment out of his voice at being left like he had been. But the past is the past, and that is where it should stay. He spoke with a sense of finality, and relief at finally being able to say that and not sound stupid. He smiled with the utmost joy at Nara, glad not only for her company, but because she had stayed with him this far, and maybe, if he didn't fuck it up, she would stay with him permanently.

Looking at the spotted stallion with his strange but beautiful language , Nara was sure she was oing to enjoy being here. He had not the normal way of a stallion. As he answered her question as to if there were others, she looked down. It was not hard to hear the disappointment in his voice about the others leaving. She ofcourse was new here but she did not think about leaving. As he stepped closer to her, she lowered her head a little as she took also a step to him. "well maybe we have to make the best out of this. I am sure you will have other mares again soon"she said. She would stay with him. She was not the kind that left. Maybe when the season would come and he would want to, they could have a foal but that was something of the furture and not something for now. "you and me we will be ok right?" she asked. Nara suddenly wondered if he would be ok. Nara - sonjanine

Thunder smiled gently at Nara as she came closer to him, and dipped his head a little when she spoke, his spotted auds twitching slightly. He looked her straight in her dark pools, and wondered what she was thinking. Of course we will be alright Nara! He couldn't help but laugh as he spoke. His eyes sparkled mischievously, and happily. He was glad for some reason that she was worrying about their well being. He knew this desert like the spots on his fore-hooves. Come now, thou's pelt will loose it's shine if thee worries like this. His voice was lightly and joyful as he spoke to the bay painted mare standing before him. His eyes loosing the mischievous sparkle that they had a few seconds before. Thunder shook his black spotted pelt, sand and dust falling in great clouds to the ground around him. If thou wouldn't mind, I think I shall bath now, thou arst welcome to join if thou wishes. He couldn't help it, his speach was sort of a toung twister at times, but once you get used to using it, it becomes second nature. He bowed gracefully to Nara before turning on his heels and trotting into the cool oasis water. The pool was large enough to hold not only himself, but ten other equines of either equal or greater size. He snorted and dunked his cranium under the water, raising above the surface with a great shake that sent droplets of water flying in all directions.

Her playfull nature came up aas he looked mischievously at her . She loved listening to him but when he turned serious again and then left to take a bath she worried that noot everything was ok. That he was thinking about something else, that he was worried about something. She looked after him and her ears turned as she wandered after him. The water was great and as she felt the droplets of him hit her she reared up slightly before she stepped into the water. She loved the play of the water and she scraped the water before she dropped her body in it and turned to her side keeping her head out of it. Then she rolled over and then stood and shook her body before walking into the deeper part so she could swim a bit. Turning to Thunder she blew some air over the water as she watched him. They would be ok as he had said . She could trust him. She swam closer to him and nibbled on the low part of his neck. She was his mare, he had claimed her and she would not leave, not like the others had.

Thunder smiled happily as he watched Nara play in the cool water of the oasis. He felt proud to have found a mare like her, he also know that he would never find another. He tossed his crainium and whinnied softly as he watched her swim over to him. He lowered his spotted crainium and relaxed as Nara began to nibble on his nape. I promise thee that I shall take care of thou. His voice was soft, strong, comforting, and held just a small trace of the protectivness he felt within himself. He turned and gently nuzzled Nara's neck. He was almost bursting with the joy that he felt when he thought about how she had come into his life, and had saved him from utter insanity.
