Delicatly I stepped into the desert. What a wierd place to live, to thrive and to hold a claim. Still, if I hid in this desert I could probably avoid being found by my sister. Something moved behind me and I let loose a shrill scream and galloped farther into the desert, trying to lose my follower. It was everywhere, it followed me. It wasn't long before the newness of the environment hit me, and the heat sapped my strength and the sand left my flints feeling tingly. I stopped, panting, head down. I felt as if I would faint, my throat was dry... dry... parched. My head shot up and I whinnied again. I had to keep moving, the parched throat was a sign of my sister, my sister, Danae, the goddess of parched throats, was coming to kill me. I forced myself to carry on. I needed water to fight this thirst, to continue me. I am Tethys, named after the goddess of the sea below the water. I have been claimed by a Knabstrupper named Thunder, thats all I knew, and I knew he lived here... but I don't think he could find me before I fell down and died.

Thunder snorted and lifted his spotted kissers to the sky, and answered the whinny that seemed a little desperite. His talons making holes in the sandy earth as he ran. It didn't take him long to find the one who had called out. He whinnied out to the mare to let her know he was approaching. Tethys I presume. Follow me, I'll take you to water. He walked slowly away in the direction of the watering hole. He looked back to see if she was going to trust him, and follow him to the water.

I heard a reply over the way and I whinnied again. It didn't sound like my sister, but the heat was messing with my smell and my hearing and my sight... nothing was as it seemed, nothing was as I remembered, and possibly my sister got a mate and was coming to hunt me. As a great spotted bulk appeared, I shivered and backed away, succeeding in tripping over myself and falling. His tone surprised me and as he said my name, I figured this was the stallion that had claimed me. Thunder? I asked, and shakily stood. He looked back at me, and I shivered. I'l c-come if-f you p-p-promise to k-keep me away f-from my s-s-si-sister. My stutter showing its ugly head, I lowered my head in embarrasment.

Thunder smiled and nodded as Tethys spoke. Of course, I'll protect you, and keep you safe. Now come, you need water and food. His voice was gentle, yet stern. He knew she needed something in her besides just air. He shook his spotted pelt and continued walking. He had to get this mare to water, it was against everything he was to let her suffer for longer than she needed. I hope you don't mind, but there is another mare living here, her name is Beretta, she shy, and sweet, and I think you two would get along, but I guess we will just have to wait and see huh? A small smile crossed over his maw as he spoke. He hoped that he could take away the pain and fear that this mare felt, and hopefully Beretta would help him.
